Who we are
Matsalu Boat Tours started with our love for nature, the sea and our home. We operate as professional fishermen in Matsalu Bay and Väinameri – not only catching fish, but also enhancing it by preserving the local food culture. In addition, we are engaged in crayfish farming and preparing fish products directly from our home kitchen. Our work and life are closely connected to the wonderful nature of Matsalu National Park – from here also grew the desire to share this beauty with others. Now we offer boat trips on Matsalu Bay and rivers, taking those interested to places that can only be reached by water. The boat takes you to where time stops, and nature speaks for itself .In cooperation with Kati Uuspõld, a great connoisseur of nature and the bird world, we also organize guided nature hikes – suitable for both leisurely walkers and curious enthusiasts. Our hikes combine local life, knowledge of nature and moments of peace away from the daily hustle and bustle. Come discover Matsalu National Park with our boat – just as we know and love it.

Preserving and respecting nature is at the heart of our activities. Matsalu National Park is one of the most important bird areas in Europe and a place with unique natural wealth. Our daily work – whether it’s fishing, crayfish farming or boat trips – is adapted to this special environment in order to maintain the balance of nature and ensure its preservation for future generations. For us, a sustainable lifestyle means honest and transparent activities – we catch fish according to the current fishing standards, process on site and offer clean products. The trips also take place in small groups so that there is no excessive pressure on nature.
Local culture and community are important to us. We share our knowledge about the nature, fishing and lifestyle of the Matsalu region, highlighting the traditions and uniqueness of the place. We believe that a true experience is born when nature and people are in harmony.
Education and awareness – together with nature guide Kati Uuspõld, we conduct trips that offer not only beauty, but also knowledge. Every hike is an opportunity to learn about Matsalu’s birds, plants, fish and local stories.
To do this, we sometimes need to take time out and step outside our daily routine to gain new energy, discover new places, listen to the silence and pay respect to our true life-giver – nature.
